Breck and Boulivardia!

This past weekend was host to this years Ride to Boulivardia!  A great ride that ended down in the West Bottoms at the Boulivardia festival and provided fun and beer for many.   Craig, Jeff, Megan, Joe Blasi, Jeff Wirken, Timber Timme, and Derek and Cori Nelson all road while Lynne kept things under control back at the start/finish line.  From the pictures sent my way, it looks like it was a good ride!  I’m glad you all participated and wish I could have ridden with you.

Meanwhile, James, Tara, and I were in Colorado for a wedding, and we were able to get a ride of our own in.   Let me tell you, riding at altitude is no simple task, however, there’s a really good cycling infrastructure built in around Summit County, so if you’ve got plans to get out there during the summer, make plans to ride.  It’s a great place to do it!  Here’s what we did.

James and I finished off the ride with a climb up the mountain we were staying on which overlooks Breckenridge.  Absolutely great place, and an a pretty tall climb.   Didn’t feel any burn in the legs, but my breathing sure burnt!

As for our upcoming Rides.  The next BBBR Ride is scheduled for July 14th.   We’ll start off at McLain’s and end at Bier Station.   Those of us training for RAGBRAI will go out for a second loop and get more mileage in.  Details can be found here:

Please also consider joining for the Thursday Night Velo Garage rides.  They start at 6:30 at the Velo Garage and Tap House in North Kansas City every Thursday night.  It’s a leave, no-one behind, group ride, that usually goes 10-15 miles.  Then ends at the Garage for Beer and fun.

Now!  Pics from this weekend.
